WIMAS / COURT JOURNAL

Make the next placement count.

A pickleball court, net and practice target in morning light

A practice session does not need every variation. Start with a clear target and find your rhythm between contact and recovery.

Give practice a clear focus

Before stepping onto court, choose what deserves your attention: a more consistent placement, or recovering into position after contact. A smaller focus makes each observation clearer and gives you and your partner a shared rhythm.

Begin with an unhurried rally

After warming up, begin at a distance that feels manageable for both players. Establish a rally before changing placement. After each contact, return your attention to footwork and position. If the rhythm breaks down, pause and begin again. Noticing an adjustment is part of the value of practice.

Leave one note for next time

At the end, note one movement that felt more consistent and one detail you would like to revisit. A few words can give your next session a clear starting point. Balance play and rest around how you feel, so one visit to the court can become a lasting routine.

Make room for your next session.
